Be Careful of Modern Day Apostates!
Hello, dear readers. I apologize for my absence these past months. I hope you can forgive me. I've been struggling with my unmedicated ADHD (inattentive). So that looks like forgetfulness and extra stuff. I wanted to talk about the advancing technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence. We must be careful as the day draws near. This goes hand-in-hand with social media. Many apostates are gaining more tools at their disposal from Satan. We must be cautious not to argue with them and not fall for pages that claim to be JW friendly, and vet certain social media communities. I use social media often and have seen some warning signs that the society has brought to our attention a while ago. It is no surprise to us that comments on platforms, such as Facebook, X, Instagram, etc, have apostates on them. When we come across such information, do we give it attention or scroll past it?
I don't know if you recall a video that the society released where a brother was questioning a matter from the society, and his friend couldn't reason with him and left in his car and reversed. Do we treat the things we see on social media the same, not even attempting to reason with them? Proverbs 11:9, NWT, says, "By his mouth the apostate (godless man) brings his neighbor to ruin, but by knowledge the righteous are rescued." We need to take into consideration that this counsel is from Jehovah God, who inspired the Bible.
Taken from a Watchtower 1986, March 15, "Do Not Be Quickly Shaken From Your Reason," we read, "Will curiosity cause you to read it, just to see what he has to say? You may even reason: ‘It won’t affect me; I’m too strong in the truth. And, besides, if we have the truth, we have nothing to fear. The truth will stand the test.’ In thinking this way, some have fed their minds upon apostate reasoning and have fallen prey to serious questioning and doubt. (Compare James 1:5-8.) "So if any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching, (“finding fault.”) and it will be given him. But let him keep asking in faith, not doubting at all, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about. In fact, that man should not expect to receive anything from Jehovah; he is an indecisive man, unsteady in all his ways." So remember the warning at 1 Corinthians 10:12: “Let him that thinks he is standing beware that he does not fall.”
We should stay on guard with our eyes as they are the doors to our mind and heart. Be on guard as always. Much love to you all, and may we continue to press forward toward the new world. We are almost there. Agape.
